Our ISA Projects

Dateline: June 2011, Indonesia - Mr. Dan sent the recent information updating and introducing us to three young adults attending his community English classes.

We at International Scholars & Associates are always pleased to meet new friends from around the world and learn how they too are inspiring and changing their community. For more about our newest, wonderful young adult students and what is happening in their lives in Indonesia, click on the following link: Learning English in Indonesia.

Dateline: June 2011, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania - Ms. Riche sent a recent update on starting the MRADI WA YOHANA project informing us that already 400 people have participated.

We at International Scholars & Associates are excited to learn the great news and that this project is starting off strong. To learn more about what is happening in Tanzania, click on the following link: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Dateline: June 2011, Yunnan, China - Thanks to Festuz Lim in Yunnan Province, southwest China, we at International Scholars & Associates greatly welcome the opportunity to work with wonderful men and women; boys and girls - young and old... participating in literacy and learning projects.

The Bai people are known for inventions in agriculture, astronomy, medical science and architecture (one structure is 16 stories tall - it's over 1000 years old and still standing) as well as loving music and dance. These people live in the same region that is home to several ethinic minority kingdoms; where the famed James O. Fraser with China Inland Mission worked in the early 1900s ultimately creating the official writing system of the Lisu peoples. To learn more about this part of China click on the following link: Yunnan Province, China. More exciting information to follow soon.

Dateline: May 2011 - In Dar es Salaam, economic capital of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika, East Africa. 'Tanganyika' comes from the Swahili words tanga meaning 'sail' and nyika meaning a 'wilderness'), Ms. Riche is leading our "John Project" at orphanages and to those in Dar es Salaam who can least afford learning.

As a business professional, Ms. Riche suggests to learn more about her country and culture, google the Tanzanian capital Dar es Salaam... or just click on the name here: Dar es Salaam Tanzania. We're excited to share the news that Ms. Riche is leading the "John Project" in her city.

Dateline: April 2011 - In the 7th oldest city of the world, Yerevan in Armenia sits in the shadow of Mount Ararat where history states the ark of Noah rests; where the founding apostles Thaddaeus and Bartholomew preached and Abgar V King of Edessa is said to have ruled, we are pleased to announce that once again English classes have started. This time at the prestigious campus of the National Academy of Fine Arts.

Please feel free to visit the Academy by clicking on: National Academy of Fine Arts campus website in Yerevan, Armenia.

Dateline: January 2011 - In Indonesia for 11 years, our teachers have worked with lots of children and teenagers both in the city and in the villages. Indonesia's Next Generation benefits from International Scholars & Associates community English classes as our teachers reach out to those living in the least known places in their country.

In addition, we also hold community English classes for diligent college-aged students who aspire to become public school elementary and secondary teachers who can least afford literacy and EL learning classes. Some of those students are currently featured on our website.

In support of project-based learning and instruction: All International Scholars & Associates classes are asked to create culminating projects (each semester) where students studying English will be able to colaborate and demontrate what they have learned. So, please check back often to see the results.

Since 2008 - We have had several community English classes operating in Downtown Seattle, Washington. Our English classes are packed to capacity with those employed at Microsoft and Boeing Corporations as well as new friends in the community. And our teachers remain the finest professionals imaginable. International Scholars & Associates is so fortunate to have our classes in the Northwest territory.

As a matter of fact, the English learners are so excited about learning a new language that they participate in memorable extra-curricular events that include their families members as well as their teachers. We always welcome our newest students to our ISA English language and literacy classes.

ISA Outreach - Levantando Mexico exists to lift up... rather than pull down the fallen. We would rather share in service, than sit around and complain. We at ISA are grateful to be able to participate in lifting up others to see what we have seen, to learn what we have learned, and enjoy the liberties of life and love freely given.
